The Paul Cardall Salt Lake Community College Scholarship
Available for people affected by congenital heart disease in the Rocky Mountain Region
2010
The Paul Cardall Scholarship for Students Affected by CHD was established in 2010 by SLCC alumnus Paul Cardall, who was born with a complex congenital heart defect and received a heart transplant on 09-09-09.
The costs associated with a chronic illness such as Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) are understandably high. The Paul Cardall Family Foundation wishes to help those who have been affected by CHD to obtain an education at SLCC.
This scholarship is available to residents of the Rocky Mountain Region who either have CHD or whose immediate family members have been diagnosed with CHD. Applicants must have a sincere desire to continue their education and the capacity to do well in college. Successful applicants will demonstrate courage and character in their response to the challenge of CHD.
This $3,000 tuition scholarship ($1,500 per semester) will be awarded in mid February
for the following Fall and Spring Semesters.

“I’ve been blessed my whole life with a congenital heart defect. My soul has been stretched. I will continue to search and seek out soul stretching experiences because in this I find joy, wisdom, happiness, and a personal relationship with God.
